[*BEST NEW ARTIST!*] FREE MP3s FROM ALL BOY/ALL GIRL
Dear world, it's my pleasure to introduce to you Brooklyn's All Boy/All Girl. Made up of Danielle Lovier (vocals, ukulele), Jessie Rogowski (vocals, guitar), Josh Kraus (guitar), Hannah Levinson (viola), Nicholas Rahn (bass), Tyler Erickson (drums), All Boy/All Girl describes their music as "lo-fi indie music with some plain jane orchestrations," which doesn't quiet do justice (they're too humble).
To be quite frank, these five songs from All Boy/All Girl have really picked me up from my recent self-exile from music. I used to roll my eyes at critics when they claimed that today's bands are often the same as every other band behind them. Unfortunately, I've learned the hard way that it's true: the same riffs, the same bass lines, the same clash clink and bang, and the thing that killed me the most was that they were always singing about the same thing. Thankfully that's not the case with All Boy/All Girl, far from it.
In the small sample that's available, it becomes quite clear, very quickly, that they know what good music is about. The band is sublime with their compositional arrangements as each song delivers an experience unique within the breadth of that track. My best guess as the secret profound connection to each of All Boy/All Girl songs are the genuine drama, the emotional and the thematic arcs nested in each song, all of which yield great joy and appreciation for each and every one of All Boy/All Girl's creations.
